“Ogirisen Ogheneochuko Felix is a seasoned environmental professional with over 20 years of experience in climate change and environmental management. He holds a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Environmental Standards (Climate Change and Natural Resources Management) at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri; B.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Benin and a PGD in Project Management. Additionally, he has obtained an International Diploma in Environmental Management from UK’s National Examination Board on Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH).
Felix is presently a Deputy Director/ Climate Desk Officer at the Delta State Ministry of Environment, where he led impactful projects, including the development of the state’s climate change policy and territorial climate plan. His work spans areas such as climate policy implementation, environmental degradation research, and global warming advisories. He has represented Nigeria at major international climate events, including the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of Parties COP21, COP19 and COP 17.
Felix’s leadership extends to various roles in his community, including his position as Children’s Unit Coordinator at Living Faith Church, Asaba, where he organized and coordinates training and spiritual programs for the development of next generation of impactful leaders. He is actively involved in environmental sustainability, with certifications in climate change, environmental law, and green economy practices.
Felix is passionate about sustainable development and has contributed to key environmental policy initiatives. His continuous learning, through courses in climate change negotiations and global environmental management, ensures his relevance in the evolving field of climate action”
